File insurance claim?

Hmm, I see your point, but I wonder how that will fly w/Safeco. It seems on
general principles that it's good to file a claim quickly if you're going to
file one at all. If I file a claim tomorrow, I'll be truthfully saying that I
just noticed it; if I file in a few weeks, I won't be. The cladding and the
bumper won't look any different in a few weeks, but the scrape on the wheel
arch lip may be visibly less fresh. Another lister has raised the point that I
may run up against "How do we know you didn't in fact damage it yourself?" in
any event.

Any risk in hashing it over w/my agent b4 proceeding? IIRC, Safeco agents are
independent.
