At 3K... oil light...Pressure OK

Friends,
Been thru the archives and Bentley but maybe I'm missing something.
My '89 200 TQA has been inconsistant with a blinking warning oil light
at 3K.
 So, I did the following

   1. Changed oil pressure switch
   2. New oil change and filter

Gauge reads to almost 5
Oil level to full

Now, acceleration during shifting over 3K is fine ...no warning
Drive along about 70-80 mph at over 3K and warning light goes on

Weak oil pump?
Any suggestions welcome
