warranty about to go - help!

Front suspension!

Upper and lower ball joints, and the suspension bushings are known to be
terrible.  "I hear a squeak when..." is pretty much all you need to do to have
them inspected.  Keep complaining about it...and eventually they get replaced.

2) Engine covers lose their emblems...
3) The plastic 'engine shield' (ha!) breaks when you back up in snow (more a VW
problem...but happens on the A4)
4) CD players go in them
5) Radios are flaky
5) MAF sensors are great...or horrible...can't remember which (you'll know
though by how many you've replaced so far)
6) Those engines eat faulty spark plugs like mad...or is it that they create
faulty spark plugs?  No one will ever know...but pay attention for that
slight 'miss' when you put the gas down and when it's idling.
7) the power mirror switches are an oft-replaced item.
8) while we're on the power mirror's...I've seen the glass fall out quite a few
times on 99+ VAG products...don't know if your model is effected...

I think that's all I can remember from when I worked for a VAG dealer....
