searching the archives

Hello everyone,
Just a question.  I was searching the archives for some information, and am having trouble.

It seems like I can't get any results out of a google search of the archives that are newer than 2000.  After I couldn't get anything newer, I did a search for my last name, knowing that I've posted a bunch of times in the last two years.  I was unable to get anything even relatively recent from that search.

Anyone know of a better way to search the archives, short of downloading the whole archive, and doing the search on my own computer?
