I put the Hella H4 E-code 7"x6" rectangular headlights in my 79 Rabbit with
80/100 bulbs which were way better than the US lamps. For a lower cost
alternative to Euro lights, I'd go with either the Hella's or Cibie's. I think
the Cibie's have a higher quality lens but not sure. My Hella's are on my
Toyota Truck now. The lights are about 12 years old now. I added the Neuspeed
"City Light" to the housing. Also, I have the Lexan lense protector which has
saved the lens from all the miles they have. The protectors are NLA.
The Hella's run around $40 each light. Then make sure you put in an
upgraded wiring harness and relays in you run the higher wattage bulbs. The
harness/relays are a must on the Audis.
