I think I figured it out.
There are about a half dozen INI files in the FP directory.
I've changed contents of each file to point toward "US_Leter" (or some
similar description) for the default paper size.

Isn't it an option in the printer dialog box that pops up when you activate
printing?    You go into "properties" of the printer and there should be a
paper size option menu.
