Don't abandon it.  They will eventually find you and possibly sue you for a
storage fee.  After a few months the storage fees will me quite substantial.
Did you call any Euro-junkyards?  Even 100 miles away I believe they would
be willing to pay you for it and pick it up.
You may want to talk to Chris at www.force5auto.com
He may be able to give you some advice.  He may even buy it if he is headed
out that way.
In any case, if you aren't going to pursue another means of selling it, pay
the man and be done with it.
