ok, here's what I found...

this is using a version 6 someone handed me...

all presented solutions do not work.  BUT, I was also once handed a
little text file with explanation and a 'special' version of the
lecks[sic]hdl.dll file

I installed direct from cd, then swapped in that one file, and it works
perfectly.  Not only that, a test print of one diagram worked fine on my
laser printer, with no overrun onto a second sheet (ie, for some reason
it knows to use US letter, not A4 or whatever).

You may now deluge me with requests for copies of that dll file I
suppose, it and the text file are about half a meg total.

PS, my old v 5 CD would not even start to install for some reason.
