Huw,
Thanks, Yah it's been cold out huh, but I'm having
such a hard time gettin my car to start when cold that
I think my mixture/idle speed/ignition is out of wack.
I know that CIS may not be you'r fortay (so I'm going
to post this to the list too) but maybe you can have
some advise for me and tell me if it would be worth
freezing my but off to come up to you'r place and
adjust my mixture.
For everyone besides Huw I live in Mass and it's been
a cold SOB out,
I go to start the car in the morn and with some help
from the acellerator the car will start but I have to
keep my foot on the gas for a few minutes or the car
will stall,
after those few minutes the car will idle fine.
But I have to tell you that it all started a few
weeks ago when I was going into a store for a minute
and I forgot that the car was still in 1st with the
e-brake on I let my foot off the clutch and the car
lurched forward with a nasty noise. So after getting
back in the car I was heading to my friends house and
noticed that my check engine light was commin on so I
pulled the code and got the Hall Sendor code.
I stayed there for a few hours and after I got home I
checked the codes again and got none. I've changed my
cold start valve, checked isv and ecu temp sensors,
checked RPM and idle sensors on tranny bellhousing
(supposed to get 1k ohm's and got .992 ohm's on both),
no leaks in injectors.
So I'd like to see if my timming is rite and if my
mixture is good but I don't have the rite stuff to do
both (unemployment sucks)
but if you could give me a hand with this I would
give you something for you'r time (anything but my
first born).
I have you'r phone # and if you still live in Lee,NH
then I still have the directions from the
timingbeltothin a while back.
Sorry to be so long winded.
Thanks
Ron
