The infamous splice...

Hi all,

By all accounts I seem to have a problem with the splice in the battery
cable from the battery to the engine bay on the 5000s wagon.   In
converstaion tonight with fellow car club members a suggestion was made to
simply replace with a single continuous cable to the engine bay. Has anyone
done this? How long would it be?  1 or 2 gauge?
