diagnosing noise in 200tqa

Nick,

had that dilema not far ago.  Clicking noise.  Hard to find out from where.
Sounded same along whole length of the car.  Bit a bulet, removed drive shaft, did
not find anything bad,  repaced front CV and central bearing with rubber support
(BMW part, needed some cutting/welding) and sound disappeared for good.  I don't
recall why I decided to replace only front CV.  Apperently, I found something in
archives saying that front goes bad first most likely.
 I don't know technical details but I asked this question and got several replies
advising not to drive without the shaft.
