My experience with the DOT lights on a 95 Jetta I drove in Oregon last
August was that DOT lights should be illegal! My mom has the same car,
euro-spec of course, and I bet that her parking lights does the same job
as the DOT lights on the Jetta.
That being said, I think the E-code Jetta (aka Vento in Europe) are
lousy headlights compared to many cars here, but still a lot better than
DOT lights.
