    While I was driving my wife's 99 A6 2.8 quattro with automatic (115K) in
heavy expressway traffic the throttle stuck at about 65. I was in the left
lane and a 55mph zone was up ahead. I really had to smoke the brakes to slow
down enough to get into the right lane, hit a quick exit and turn off the key.
Heavy snow accumulation prevented me from stopping on a shoulder. It was
really cold. When I turned it back on it redlined in neutral immediately.
After letting it sit for about a half hour I was able to drive it home
cautiously. Seems like the throttle was literally frozen open. I didn't have
cruise control on and I had just stopped a couple minutes before to pay a
thruway toll with no hint of a problem after driving 200 miles at 70 with
cruise control on. Anybody else experience anything like this?
TIA
