Morning all,

I just figure I would interject my experiences with K&N's. As seen by my
signature I take care of a fair number of vehicles and currently the '66
Mustang and the Spitfire have K&N's on them. I did have one on the pickup
but it got damaged so I have not been able to replace it yet. To give you
an idea of the conditions, I live just outside Guelph, Ontario, therefore my
vehicles see all road conditions, city smog, country dusty roads, bugs,
foliage etc.

The Mustang came to s with a 2" paper filter element open to the engine bay,
the engine is a 351W probably pushing 300hp. When driving and put the foot
down, little power, not very responsive. Installed a dropdown filter to get
3" and the power response improved. Was still getting crap inside and
around the carb opening. I switched it to a K&N and I got a huge response
boost and no more dust residue around the carb opening.

The Spitfire uses a 2.0L, 6cyl GT6 engine. The filters on the carbs are
side mounted and basically are above the passenger front wheel. The
original paper filter, while kept the road dust out also restricted the
amount of air going in the carbs. Switched them to K&N's as well and get
better throttle response with better mileage.

The pickup had much better low end torque response as well.

I have found the key to K&N's is:
	- Keep them oiled, the oil is the filter, not the element, it is the holder
for the oil. In my case I do them once a year but that is simply cause the
cars are low yearly mileage.
	- When cleaning, make sure to get all of the crap out.

Just my 2 cents ( Canadian, so really not worth too much )
