other air temp sensor?

Alright, I've found the driver-side outside air temp sensor on my 1990
200TQA.  Sure enough, it appears to be reading quite high.  But the
other one failed earlier and I suspect that my mechanic just removed
it (he was going to replace it but I told him only to do it if the
part was less than $5).  Can someone help me find it?

It's "next to the HVAC air intake".  Or "On Plenum under windshield on
passanger side".  It's under the hood, right???  What's a plenum?
Which description is right?  And if it was removed, any idea where I
can get a plug, or should I just use some aftermarket plug?
