thanks for the quick replies guys, my headache is subsiding already :) Since fatigue, frustration and hunger have mounted so I will put off further work until tomorrow.
i am a little confused about the timing mark on the tranny/bellhousing. It is to the right of the '0' mark? I can't see anything there. Or is it the metal straight egde that runs across the flywheel at the bottom of the opening of the bell housing? I guess i'm looking for a little guidance as to where the mark is that i line up the '0' across.
as for the noise, the belts may be a little tight and/or there is no coolant in the engine, only water, because the radiator failed. I've followed the bentley for belt tensions but will recheck. I will also change the oil b/c its old and the engine has been sitting for almost two months.
At this point, I'm just relieved that I can go back and fix things.
thanks,
George Siambis
