CGT fuel problem suddenly super rich then dead

Assuming that your fuel and ignition systems are basically in tune
(i.e., CO, idle and timing are properly adjusted, rather than relying
on lambda feedback to keep a grossly out-of-whack system in check),
and that there are no bad air leaks in the intake system.

Are all electrical connectors on fuel system components making good
reliable contact?  Sudden changes of this sort seem to me like
electrical contact issues.  In particular, check the connector for
the frequency valve and the ECU connector itself.

Another possibility is that the oxygen sensor is intermittently
giving a false "lean" reading, causing the control unit to go rich.
