Subject: A4 16" alloys on front of type44T.. too close to control arm??

My dad's A6 wheels touched my type 44 right strut.  But after about 5 minutes with a file they fit fine.  I probably removed about 2mm of that lip on the steering tie rod mount.

snip<has anyone else who is running A4 16" alloys with stock tires (205-55-16) on
the front of their type44T experienced that the tire is nearly touching the
control arm?
car is stock ride height, not lowered.
