My brother has a '92 200SX turbo which has had its sills welded up, there
were 4in holes in them (rusted out from the inside). The rear hatch is
slowly rusting out and a couple of months ago the licence plate lights fell
out because their surrounds had desintegrated, despite the car being
pampered and parked in a dry garage. His previous Nissan, a '93 Primera,
had its transmission replaced at 90k km because it kept jumping out of
gear. A well-known problem.
His '85 Coupe quattro is still rust free and overall seems to do better
than the Nissans, despite having twice the mileage.
