loctiting studs

As far as the studs go, the head portion stays relatively cool.
Loctite can live in there. It gets harder over the years. All you
need to do is add friction so they don't work their way loose. The
nut end get's too hot and the nuts have the lock on them, anyway.

BTW- all of the stud that have ever back out on me had the nuts
still very tightly engaged to them.

On my current 200, the entire upper end was redone by the previous
owner, along with a rebuilt head. New turbo and oil lines. The studs
began backing out about 4k miles after I bought the car and the car
was nearly immediately stored after the original work was done. This
job is smoething I don't want to do again, so loctite it is. It also
looked like the t belt was not changed, prolly because they couldn't
get the crank bolt off. I was barely able to do it with #2084, a
craftsman breaker and a 3 foot pipe on the end. Water pump looked
new, however. I just decided to do everything right, down to the
last nut and bolt. I didn't want to leave anything to chance.
