I got to use my Audi repair techniques for something a little different.
We all know how nice it is to replace some bulbs with an LED/resistor
combo so that we never have to worry about the bulb burning out again.
Well, I've had a doorbell button that has been burnt out for some time
and I always forget to pick one up at the local Home Depot. So the other
day I pull it and take it inside, with the thought that doorbell systems
run on 12v DC. So I pulled out a 1k ohm resistor and a super bright red
LED and jerry rigged them to light up the doorbell button. Worked great!
The only problem now is that the front doorbell button is white, and the
rear doorbell button is red. Oh well, I'll remedy that once the front
light burns out.
