Hi Brendan,
I own a company that makes things in resin, mostly model kits and
miniatures. We also make reproductions of parts and lenses for older
vehicles.
This project involves making reproductions of the dummy fog lamp inserts
that are found in the bumper of 4K's. The inserts are made in two versions.
One is a duplicate of the original insert, the other is an opaque version
that comes in primed in gray that is suitable for painting. We might
include a third version that comes with the lens reproduced in a semi gloss
black flexible resin.
I don't yet have digital camera, and my scanner makes hash out of 35mm
photos, so I've asked someone who graciously agreed to take a few pics of
the test set that we made and installed on a local 4K last month.
We currently taking orders as of 06-01. After 07-31, the retail price for a
set of inserts goes back to $84.00, from $75.00. Any set sold in July 2003
will be replaced one time at no cost should it become damaged in any manner.
I've reviewed a number of photos of stone damage, and am curious how this
sort of wear will affect the reproduction lenses.
Seems that some 4K owners tend to drive off-road for some reason... :O)
