Isn't it also only on one side to assist in visualizing how the car is
positioned on the road (you see one light, and know the bulk of the car is
to the left of it. Furthermore, on RHD drive countries isn't the fog light
located on the same side as the steering wheel (opposite from Germany and
USA.) For instance, my 300ZX has provisions on the rear light cluster for
a rear fog light to be on either side (you just pop off a cover and a
single light bulb socket the same as the reverse light socket plugs right in.)
