88 90Q Rough Running Engine

I recently purchased an 88 90Q and I am trying to track down the cause of
it's engine misfiring.   What I know:  The engine misses mostly at steady speeds
while driving, clears up mostly under hard acceleration.  Miss is not as
noticeable at idle.  It just passed emissions with no problems.  I have replaced
the plugs and noticed that the crankcase breather hose has been disconnected and
is venting under the car.  The metal piping it should connect too has been
capped off.  Any help is appreciated!   Thanks!
