1994 90S: Clearing diagnostic codes, howto

Hi,

How do I clear the diagnostic codes on my 1994 90S?

I read the 12v.org site and it suggests connecting the left terminals of
the two connectors in the fuse box for at least 4 seconds. I have tried
that with the engine stopped, running, and having the terminals connected
while starting. I also tried removing the three Engine Timing fuses for a
minute or so. The ECU still signals code 2312 - which should be fixed now.
The check engine light does not come on when I start the engine normally,
so I don't think it's picked up an error yet...

Any advice?
