Let's throw in some more speculation :-)

Even if you don't use  K&N (and they do let more debris into the engine --
Fact), I like to use their reference guide for comparable applications.

What I came up with (Disclaimer -- may be Euro only):

Ford Escort
'90 Diesel
'96 1.8 16v Zeta
'91-96 RS 2000 16v

BTW, I this assumes the K&N No. I have is correct:  33-2627.   I'm sending
K&N Germany PDF to Martin under separate cover.
