Yes, its probably not in the top 100 for appearance but
when I see several lifts, computers rack mounted electronics
and the like I'm impressed..........or maybe envious.
My old ex-dealer mechanic left for Florida so I've been
trying out several shops around. His was a stark, barron
old gas station but he made due with one lift and did damn
fine work reasonably priced too.
Maybe that reflects on the mechanic more so than the "shop" capabilities.
My brothers old "GTO" skipped and ran rough in Boulder, CO
on a cross country trip. Their "expensive" diagnostic machine
and "certified" tech couldn't figure out the crack in the
distributor cap even after my brother asked specifically about it.
They just charged a college kid $2-something to send him out of town.
300 miles later in no-man's land this kid found the
cracked cap in 10 minutes in a one bay barron, empty garage.
Preceived story moral?
Talent can take you so far, proper equipment will enhance that talent:
but the equipment doesn't do the work by its self.

in
Torino, Italy a few years ago while in a shop that would put Intel dust
containment standards to shame.
