a very rough Audi weekend

It does happen on the UrS4 - S6, Marc. The timing belt cover fits very
tightly, but if you blow a serpentine belt, the fragments can end up inside
the timing belt cover and under the belt. I had a serpentine belt split in
half and shred, lots of chunks ended up inside the timing belt cover.
Fortunately, none got under the t-belt.

bet he couldn't do that again if he repeated the procedure a dozen times
(not that you'd want to!).  Sounds like a _SERIOUS_ stroke of bad luck!
