tyre sizes accross torsen diff...

i know this thread has been up before.....
my situation is this, bought a set of speedlines on ebay. 4 legal tyres.
unfortunately 1 tyre is different and newer to the rest.  the other 3 are
pirelli p5000 dragos, which come in at around £90 a piece, so they must be
pretty good tyres afaik. so rather than replace all 4 tyres with a set of
'budget', ie toyo proxes or kumho ecsta £45-55 each, can i replace on pair
of tyres or is this really such a no no, in the past i have fitted a pair of
new tyres, then 5-6 months later, the other pair, with the same tyre, and no
apparent adverse effects, since this is an old topic you can just reply
directly.
