howling after T-belt job?

I get the classic gobble on my coupe, with the n/a 2.1 block therer is
no tensioner.  I think it is the water pump - maybe belt too tight, but
I never tried loosening it a bit, maybe just a cheesy water pump...
Can't hear it over the exhaust anyway, though!

I thought the 2.2 turbos were statically interfering as well?
