89 200q normal oil pressure? Then Why the Warning light?

i had this same problem... only over 3000 rpm...
mind you it still worked when it was supposed to
1988 audi 90 turbo quattro, 1984 audi 5000 engine and computer.
i read up on the circuit design to be safe.
the light is SUPPOSED to come on if oil pressure is less than 0.3 bar at idle
or under 2 bar over 2000 rpm ( i think its 2 bar... at least close to it)
never quite got around to troubleshooting it... however i just think its a bad connection
which becomes worse under vibration (3000 rpm)
according to the bently the light WONT come on from oil pressure being too high...
it will just shoot oil lines off etc...
my idle pressure is 1-3 bar approx and 3-5+ bar under load.
this is normal.
i found that some old golfs have vdo gauges that go to ten bar... i need to rape one from
a junkyard...
