Ok
here goes
yesterday i got an email from a company advertising their new car
marketplace (autotrader if you like). so the first thing i did was look for
cheap audis.
first car comes up: 1984 coupe quattro - £600, wow, i thought, thats a good
price for a coupe quattro, only seen them for 800-1000 before now. so i look
at the details.. the picture is of a dark blue urq in a showroom, next to
some sort of 4wd. wow, thats a urq if im not mistaken (hence previous
email), so i figure two things, firstly there is a 0 missed of the price, or
secondly it is a urq and someone has looked up the price on a coupe or taken
it as a cheap trade in.
i send my details
last evening i get a phone call about the "coupe quattro". "hi, i'd like
some details please, is it a turbo coupe?"(trying to act unknowledgeable).
"no, if it was i'd want about 10x the price" he says. "oh, has it had an
engine swap then?", "no" is the reply"
so i say "in the photo it is a turbo quattro!". "i didn't place a photo"
At this point it has all become clear, and my dillusions are shattered!
so the photo i was looking at wasn't even of the right car... not good at
all.
i expect the poor guy is going to have more people trying to by a very cheap
urq!!!
