I wouldn't consider any of the factory seats "superior" in comparison to each
other, but all 4kq seats are narrower and do "hold" you better, though the
bolstering isn't much less aggressive in either.  Also, often what I've found is
that the older seats that have "collapsed" some tend to feel better because
you sit "in" the seat more than in a new seat.

Generally the T89 and up seats are wider, I've found the Coupe Quattro seats
to be even wider than the 80/90 seats.
