Actually, there are three versions of the inserts that we're currently
considering, depending on how well each is accepted.

It also needs to be understood that we normally sell "kits", things that you
have to paint & assemble, but in this case we're painting and assembling the
inserts ourselves.

However, it is still possible to order the OEM inserts unpainted &
unassembled, leaving the purchaser with the option of using some other
reflective paint other than "silver" to color the insert lenses in a novelty
manner. Just avoid law enforcement colors, please...

Here are the styles available:

1. OEM-style clear lens. Looks just like the originals.
2. Opaque (not clear) inserts, primed gray for painting by the purchaser.
These are the "black inserts" seen on Travis' 4K in the photos.
3. Flexible black inserts. These are going to be done as an experiment.
The backing plate is the same as the other inserts, but the font is cast
using a new black flexible resin. My idea is that it might take those
gravel baths with less damage than the OEM or even our other repro inserts.

I'll take measurements from Travis' 4K to see how the split line would fall
on the inserts, then work a bit with the masters to see how it would look in
each style. It might also be a good excuse for adding a smidgen to the
thickness of the lens portion of the inserts... hmm...
