What's it worth? (long)

Hi all - I might be selling my 5kcsq. Thing is, I just don't
know what it is worth.

Read on, if interested, and let me know what _you_ would ask
for it, if it were yours.

Thanks!

86 5000 cs quattro sedan
White
174k miles
Exterior in OK condition - a few small dings and dents.
Interior (tan leather) fair, seams on both front seats splitting.

Probably best as a parts car or a fixer-upper. The bad - second
gear grinds. It is _possible_ to get around the grind, but
it is difficult; a new/used tranny was next on my list.

It needs a headlight - one has a hole(~1/4" diameter), condensation
in the glass, while it works, it is ineffective (it really needs
euros, which was my second item on the list).

Center bearing on rear driveshaft is cooked. Driveable, but
under boost in low gears, it makes noise.

Clutch replaced ~3 years ago. (It sat at the shop for a year -
P.O. wound up with some governmentally funded housing...never paid
his bill, etc).

It also had a windshield installed just before I bought it -
because of the odd situation, we had to do a title-check, and
the state would not do the vin-verification without one (but
they let the headlight slide, shrug;).

Replaced items, all within the past 2 years - things I did:

Clutch master and slave cylinder replaced ~1.5 years ago.
Coolant expansion tank.
Radiator.
Turbo-coolant pump.
Timing belt.
Waterpump/crank seal.
Injectors.
Fuel pump.
Fuel filter.
Plugs/wires/cap/rotor(could probably use a cap/rotor - I've had the
car since 148k).
Motormounts.
Tranny mounts.
New front rotors/pads.
New rear calipers/rotors/pads.
Air filter.
Interior/dash light control unit (behind the glove box).
Hoses(lots of coolant).
Power steering pump(reman from Blau).
Power steering rack(~2 months ago).
High pressure PS hoses - pump to bomb, pump to rack.
Have a brand new 7 blade radiator fan, not yet installed.
Has a fused radiator ground connection to prevent meltdown.
Front right CV joint/axle.
Lower control arms - whole arm, including balljoint.
Strapped intercooler, wastegate has a Charlie spring in it,
makes 1.5-6 bar on the MFA. Also made W/G adjustable.
Various vacuum hoses, although it is probably time to
get under the hood and reinspect.
Doorhandles - I believe both fronts. Doors/ignition are not
keyed the same.

I think that's it.

The car does not smoke. It does not have starting issues. The
climate control works, but the AC does not - no condensor in
the car(err, the radiator-like thing in front of the radiator).

Sunroof needs a switch, some TLC to work. Someone snagged
the switch or something - I don't know where it is.

Has wagon taillights, debadged.

Has Michelin Arctic Alpins, 80% tread remaining.

Windows are tinted, bubbly in the back window - not bad enough for
me to do anything about, but a little annoying.

Windows all work, but the p-side regulator is slow.

D-side sunvisor mysteriously disappeared - have one to put in,
but I'm not sure it is an exact color match.

Could probably use shocks at some point.

Has decent speakers connected to the stock stereo - not _bad_ sounding,
but, well, it is a 1986 era stereo - great for what it is, but it is
what it is.

Battery is ~2 years old.

All told, it is a nice car, with obvious exceptions. It is super
reliable (now), still fast, great in snow, etc.

- Would make a great ski car, add lights and a rack, go skiing.

- It is a great parts car - just bought a 5k? This _is_ cheaper
than buying everything individually;).

- Could be brought back to "good" very easily - tranny, headlights,
center bearing, dent smoothing, it is a very nice example of the
car.

I've got $4000 in the car; I've paid full pop for some things(those
needed NOW), wholesale for a lot of other stuff($4k includes the
cost of the car). That does not include the tires.

What do you think it is worth? I'm not in a rush to sell it,
but I really don't _need_ it. I could probably part it out,
but I think I'd rather just sell it to someone; thing is, I
just don't know what is 'fair.'

On one hand, second gear grinds. Blech(it has Redline synthetic
oil in it now - it has had BG Syncroshift, stock gear oil, some
other gear oil, tried everything oilwise - it still grinds).

On the other hand, if the center bearing were replaced, it'd be
a fine car, minus the second gear.

I just don't know what to do with this thing....
