Hi all,
Just wanted to share my joy. After long deliberations I decided to go
ahead and to semi-retire my beloved 5KTQ. I must admit that thoughts of
getting something other than Audi quattro did cross my mind although
deep down I knew that I would not be happy if I did that. Couple of days
ago while browsing through classified car ads I found something I
immediately knew would be a real steal if I could get it. This guy was
looking for somebody to assume his ridiculously low lease on 1999 A6Q
Avant with only 70K miles. To make long story short, I got the car and I
am so excited. I was not even thinking about A6 as I always thought that
it would be too expensive and, being a heavy automatic, too slow.
I was always thinking about A4Q 2.8 with 5-speed, but now, after driving
A6 for two days, I feel that I can definitely live with it. It's not a
speed demon like my 2.0Bar 5KTQ, but it's not a slouch as I thought it
would be. Tiptronics does help somewhat.
I absolutely love the A6, it's an awesome piece of machinery. Everything
about it is just right, the fit, finish, ergonomics etc. Wow. Engineered
to perfection. The big selling point for me was a bumper to bumper
warranty (Audi Assured) I still have till June 2004. I know cost of
repairs all too good.
Anyway, I am happy and thank you for listening.
My '90 90 FWD is now for sale. Anybody wants to convert it into turbo
Quattro and swap an automatic with a 5-speed? Just kidding. I think it
would be too much even for Javad.
My old but faithful buddy 5KTQ is not and will never be for sale. I love
it too much. One day, when I can afford it, I will repaint it and bring
it to its original condition.
