You have a 90Q, right?  The prime suspect is the brake assist assist
vacuum pump on the side of the head.  Undo the two bolts holding the
pump, pull it off, remove the drive rod, reinstall.  If the knock is
gone, you've fixed it.

You'll only lose brake assist while revving the engine, rare on the
street, though common on race tracks, I guess.
