Goofy Speedo

Hello,

My speedo on my 87' 5000cs TQ is intermittently fluctuating. For example, at
3000 RPM I should be reading just a hair under 80 MPH. But my speedo is
fluctuating between 65-75/80 MPH.

I read on this list a few weeks ago of a gentleman who was a little sad about
his local shop closing his doors. I think he mentioned that he fixed a few of
these speedo problem for the shop? I have the ability to fix this, I would
just like to know if someone has the information to send my way on what to look
for.
