BMW gave the State of South Carolina an E34 chassis
M5 (forget what year) when they built the Spartansburg
plant. That BMW is in a museum now- state police, don't
know where it's located.

The M5 came out in 1988 in the US, the M3 came to the US
at roughly the same time, as did the M6.

Actually, it was an M3- besides, the M5 wasn't in the US at the time(the
plant opened to produce the Z3, to give you an idea of how long ago this
was).

I don't remember if it was one, or a pair.
