They may be different (I don't know first hand), but they don't have to
be. The fuel pump isn't what determines the fuel pressure. Thats done by
the fuel pressure regulator (go figure ;). Yes the two systems (EFI vs
CIS) require very different fuel pressures, but the CIS pump is certainly
capable of handling either (I run an EFI system in my 90tq with the old
CIS pump)
I would think the chassis/fuel tank change would be more of a factor, as
well as cost, since a cheaper pump may be able to be used for the lower
pressure requirements of EFI.
