Trunk lock won't open '90 80

Once you have the lock fixture in hand, you may be able to do what I did,
which was separate the two metal sides surrounding the ball slightly with a
stiff, thin blade and work some Kroil or similar penetrating lubricant into
the ball cavity. After a while, that lets the pieces slide enough for the
lever to get working again.
If that approach doesn't work, others have reported using something like a
dremel to cut out the ball itself. You'll find this method described on
Chris Miller's website http://members.aol.com/c1j1miller/index.html if you
put "trunk lock repair" in the search feature.
I now spray the lock, as I do all the door locks and latching mechanisms,
with a lubricant that contains a bit of teflon. I do this about every
three months on 4K, 5K, 200 and V8 models, and I've not had a lock or
handle issue on any of them for several years.
