I won't buy a new Audi.
I'll buy a used one (Quattro only) and go the independent route with
wrenches.
I spoken with each of the complainants. Read/heard their stories.
IMHO it is a PROBLEM.
I steered my wife into an A6 avant certified from Audi.
The steering clunked. mysteriously.
In fact it was Mark R. who found suspension movement in the car at a DE.
The car was 2 weeks "new" to us. 2 trips to the dealer for them to fix it.
The rear felt like the suspension was soft,
it was frozen clamped brake rotors on that wheel. Rotor wore INTO caliper
bracket.
Dealer only warranted the caliper. ~ 8 thousand miles from memory.
I bought rotors and pads OEM from Force five. COM and had the dealer install
those.
THEN I had to negotiate warranty to pick up the brake bleed cost.
Part of the R & R folks.
Mom bought an A4, sadly from another dealer.
That dealer did my 200 Bose recall.
I asked them to check the e-brake for slack.
They gave me a $2600 brake repair estimate.
Rears frozen, cables etc. I checked the cams, they move.
The pads float on the rotor. (Only the A6 avant above had a "frozen"
caliper)
I'll grease the guide pins for the Lime Rock DE this week, bleed brakes.
They are FINE.
For Virginia's shinning example see:

under saving the 200 in VA.
And by the way the dealer charged the owner (which I paid for then
inherited)
$12 for a distributor rotor which wasn't in the car.
I don't know Jack, but I'd say he has a problem. I'd LOVE to meet him.
If it wasn't for this list I might have been sucked into one of these BOGUS
repair estimates.

In fact, corporate has had a
policy of rewarding those who minimize warranty claims, despite the law.
I've told the Audi dealers that I'm friends with that I'll not only NOT
recommend Audis to friends and clients, but I won't consider a new Audi
until Jack
Jones is fired from his very powerful position. With his ethics and
apparent
lack of oversight, in good faith I would never buy from a car company who
does
NOT honor their warranties in good faith.
In just my case, over the past year and a half, Audi has lost the sale of an
A6 4.2 (for my mother, she purchased a BMW 330xi) and RS6. That doesn't
include the fact that I tell whomever will listen the facts about how Audi
of
America has treated me.
I still love the cars, hate the company.
