I don't think any dealer would be foolish enough do that ever again. The out cry from the online automotive community totally overwhelmed both that dealers phone system and their e-mail & web services. Basically, once word got out, they got slammed with phone calls, e-mails, and denial of service attacks to the point that they had to drop the suit. Word had gotten out to every car related forum on the net and everybody pulled together and really put that stealer, er I mean dealer in its place. Not only did they drop the suit, but they even took care of the problem the guy had to begin with. Funny, if they just would have done that in the beggining, their rep would have gottern better, now nobody wants to buy a car from Jim Ellis VW....
