interesting - have you driven both cars?
imo, the s8 is a far better car than the s6. it's the same weight, but with
more power, better suspension and more room - it also looks better. push
both cars and the passive rear-wheel steer on the s8 makes the car much
happier to turn in.
btw, most people are talking about a tuned w12 for the new s8, with a tt v10
for the rs8...

And the US won't see it supposedly until 2005.
Let's hope the 2005 model fares better than its predecessor, which
was perhaps the most pointless S-car ever made. In Europe, when the
new S6 came out, the car mags declared, "this car makes the S8
irrelevant". I'm somewhat amazed AoA is going to give the nameplate
another go- dealers here in the US couldn't give 'em away, even
without the S6 eating away at sales.
Len says, to the press: "the S8 will surprise everyone". Let me take
a stab at deflating the 'surprise'- an FSI biturbo V8? It's no
secret the S8 will be thankfully based on the A8, not the A8L(which
is all we'll see here for at least 2-3 years).
