Nope, in fact when I was in the motherland a couple years ago, we made a
trip to the factory in Ingolstadt. Granted, it's not going to be your
'typical' dealer experience anywhere, I would think. But there were dozens
of people picking up their brand new Audis right off the production line
in an immaculate indoor display area. Each customer had their own
representative working with them, for probably the good part of 2 hours.
Showing them every little niggling thing on the car. And we're not talking
just the high end models here. Everything from an A2 on up was being
picked up there in that manner, with the same treatment. Don't think the
R8 that was on the floor was going to a customer though ;) Everything in
that facility just reeked of class and sophistication. There wasn't a spot
in the place (main factory floor area included) that wasn't meticulously
kept. Oh, and if you ever go there, you have to check out the toilets...
trust me... (simple minds, simple pleasures, right :)
Somehow I think I got a little off topic there.... my bad ;)
