window and sr inop

There is a relay/control unit, it is under the dash behind the driver's
knee-crush bolster. But before you go digging in there, please pull back
the rubber bellows between the driver's door and car body and inspect the
wires in there for breakage, there is probably a big fat brown (ground) one
that is mostly broken but sometimes making a little contact. The wires used
in the joints can't take 10+ years of flexing and I have replaced all the
flexing wires in both front doors and the trunk hinge in my car. Best fix
is to snip and replace wire segments one by one, but you may be able to
squeak by for a while without taking the door and dash apart (until the
next one breaks) by butt-splice/crimping the ends together in the bellows.

ignition switch (jiggling or not starting engine at all does not help).
Also, at night, when the windows and sr are inop, the switches do NOT
light up. Occaisonally, the will light up, but if I press one of the
buttons, ALL of the switches go dark immediately, and do not come back on,
and the window does not move at all. Does this help troubleshoot this at
all? Also, is there a relay and if so, does anyone know where it is?
