[urq] '83 UrQuattro - Whats it worth?

I too have an 83 that I paid a vary fair price for. It is in well used
daily driveable condition for a 20year old car. I would say and have come
to the conclusion that most (esp an 83 Urq) old cars are very difficult to
fix up and "more than recoup my time and money" unless you are very
efficient at rebuilding/restoring cars. The problem becomes much worse when
parts are as difficult and expensive as these are.
I will not be trying to restore mine, not that it is that bad and do plan on
upgrades, but with the cost of making it a nice example, mine will continue
to be enjoyed daily with no concerns of getting rock chips.
Also price just the cost of doing a nice paint job!
It also appears to me that you can get nice original cars for $8,000 to
$11,000 and decent cars that could realistically be fixed up in the $4k to
$5k range, even if you paid less (as I did) you should be able to sell in
this range thus setting the beginning value.
The only true reason for fixing up one of these is because you enjoy it.
The only other possible reason I can think of is if you want a nice one,
can't afford to buy it now in one lump sum.
