Sorry, can't help, but speaking of license plates:
Last weekend on a stage rally here in BC, Canada a 2002 WRX, M. Arefi, took
off from the ceremonial start (not stage) rather quickly on tamac and upon
shifting into 2nd gear and letting the clutch out, the car briefly
shuddered and shook off the rear license plate on the ground.  It looked
quite funny at the time
