OK guys-
Looking for suggestions on a minor idle
annoyance/problem w/ my 4kq. Problem *seems* to be
related somewhat to temperature as the problem was
occuring in the fall, went away during the cold winter
and is now back.
Description:
First start of the day is fine, and if car has sat for
8+ hours it is fine.
Starts within about 1-4 hrs of original start is where
I see the problem. Car starts easily, RPM drops to
around 800 after a second or two, then seems to
stumble, idle drops more to around 600 RPM, ISV
adjusts and RPM shoots to 1300 or so for a second and
then slowly drops back to around 800 where the
stumbling re-occurs. It never actually stalls out,
and after a few cycles to 1300 RPM and back down
everything settles out (30 sec or so)
Hot starts within about 1 hr are fine.
Recent cap, rotor, wires, plugs, air filter, fuel
filter w/ no change. Adjusted mixture with DPR
harness (it was a little rich) w/ no change. O2
sensor bounces back and forth over 0.5V properly.
My next educated guess is the ECU temp sensor. Any
other ideas?
Thanks,
Bill Perron
