Since we've gravitated in this direction, does anyone know where those 3M
connectors that the phone company uses can be purchased? A few years ago
the phone guy gave me a big bag of them in all sizes and it's time to
restock.
I've seen these in the 3M literature, but never for sale anywhere, 3M
calls them "insulation displacement connectors", once the wires you want
to spliced are inserted you squeeze down the "hat" and the wires are
bridged and covered in an insulating gel.
I don't think they'd be good for this threads application, but they are
great for Audi internals, especially when you have to connect wires in
tight spaces.
